François Grünewald
François Grünewald is the Executive Director at Groupe URD. He is an agricultural engineer and has a great deal of experience working on emergency food security programmes. He supervises all of Groupe URD’s research and evaluation work. He co-edits Karthala’s Pratiques Humanitaires collection. He is a former member of the Haut Conseil de la Coopération Internationale and of the Commission Nationale Consultative des Droits de l’Homme.
Why am I running?
At a time where "evidence base" is onez of the most frequently used "buzz word" in the humanitarian discourse, research can bring otheir types of lights as it is a highly versatile tool to bring multi disciplinary, multiscale and broader view on things: There are a few couples that are often opposed when they could be either reconciled or seen as streams of sciences that could enriched perspectives on complex issues: data or knowledge, epidemiological statistics or social sciences, randomized or purpose sampling. It is to promote that approach that I would be most happy to join the Board.
