The All India Disaster Mitigation Institute (AIDMI) is a registered public charitable trust based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. It is a community-based action planning, action research and policy support organization, working towards bridging the gap between policy, practice and research related to disaster mitigation and climate change adaptation as laid out in National Disaster Management Plan of Government of India of 2016.
How does AIDMI relate to Humanitarian Studies?
AIDMI has been at the forefront of humanitarian studies-action learning-since 1995. AIDMI does so through policy work; pilot projects; reviews and research; and publishing the only disaster risk reduction publication in Asia titled, "Southasiadisasters.net" since 2001 total 171 issues are published on humanitarian and disaster risk reduction studies.
Why am I running?
AIDMI wishes to bring in far more ideas, individuals, and institutions from South Asia to IHSA as well as challenges of future of work in humanitarian action; fourth industrial revolution impact on humanitarian action; and concept of universal basic relief to all victims.
